Finding Healing After Loss: Anna Berry’s Journey of the Heart

Quotation from Anna Berry about navigating grief and loss, with a photo of her smiling and wearing a blue blazer against a gradient background.

Anna reminds us that grief doesn’t go away—it just finds a quieter place to live within us. Over time, she’s learned to smile more often than she cries, even while continuing to honor Mike’s memory every day.

After nearly 30 years in a partnership, Anna had never lived alone. Moving into her own space, creating new routines, and focusing on self-care helped her reconnect with who she is today—not just who she was before or during marriage.

Inspired by a desire to be present for her kids and protect her own health, Anna committed to walking, working out, and rebuilding her strength. She’s since lost 50 pounds and says movement has been essential to her mental clarity and healing.

A pivotal book, It’s Okay That You’re Not Okay by Megan Devine, helped Anna give herself permission to grieve in her own time. That message shaped her approach to healing—and how she now supports others.

Anna’s mantra throughout her journey has been to give grace: to herself, to others, and to the process of grief. She’s learned that healing is not linear, and perfection is not required.

“I want to be a source of light for others—because that’s the best way I can honor Mike.”
